Hi all👋
This week has been a week of reconnection for me. Coming back home has helped me ground and see the many things that have been happening in the European side IRL. Furthermore, after catching up with a few investors I am happy to say that fundraising times are back, with a lot more check for sensitivity in startup projects and some sort of business model. Thus, I feel optimistic of what’s to come. Furthermore, this week we had a few cool things happen such as Gülsah Wilke 💜becoming the first female partner at DN Capital. Specially after seeing the scandal behind the firm and a partner it’s great to see they are actively looking to change and make this a more safe ecosystem for us all.
Not sure if anyone here celebrates Easter but if you do I hope you are having a wonderful time with your loved ones and get to recharge for the start of Q2. Reddit's IPO Soars on Day One 🚀
Reddit's leap into the public market was nothing short of spectacular, closing its first trading day up nearly 48% at $50.31 per share, soaring past its IPO price of $34. Amidst the buzz, Reddit's $804 million revenue in 2023 and its unprofitable status were overshadowed by its promising AI venture, selling $203 million in data contracts to AI firms. The successful IPO, following Astera's, hints at a warming market for tech IPOs, challenging the wait-and-see approach many tech companies have adopted post-2021's valuation dip. Read more here.
